Connected in commuNity

May Greetings

Hi Church

It was such a JOY to gather at our Creative Team Newcomers Night last night and see so many people leaning in with heart, hunger, and a desire to be part of what God is building. We’re truly expectant for all that God is doing across our Creative Team—on Sundays and beyond. If you missed it, its not too late. Come along to next Wednesday 6th, 7pm. Whether you sing, play, serve in production, or you’re just keen to explore, there is a place for you.

We are anticipating a wonderful May ahead. We have some Open Theme weekends coming up, creating space to hear what God is stirring in the hearts of our team. We’re looking forward to hearing from Ben and Ps Kristy—Ben sharing from a passage that has been forming his life for years, centred on wisdom, stewardship, and trusting God with both today and tomorrow, and Ps Kristy bringing what will be a moving message on Mother’s Day.

Then on Sunday 17th May, just ahead of Pentecost Sunday, we launch into our new series: Breath and Fire – A Series on Renewal by the Spirit.

Alongside this, we’re excited for the launch of Youth Worship on a Friday night, a wonderful new Youth and Kids initiative Love is our Weapon, along with baptisms and our upcoming All In Team Night.

Let’s lean into fellowship,  into community, and into all that the Lord is doing in our midst. We believe it will be a significant month together.

With love,
Ps James & Tam

Current Teaching Series

Throughout the year, we intentionally leave a couple of Sundays between series open — creating space for what God is stirring right now in the hearts of our preaching team. These “OPEN” Sundays are often some of the most timely and personal moments in our church life.

We’re looking forward to two of these coming up on May 3rd and 10th (Mothers Day!) — hearing from Ben Rundle and Ps Kristy Miles.

Come expectant — these are the Sundays where fresh insight, lived experience, and Spirit-led themes come to the forefront.

Soon Coming Teaching Series

The Holy Spirit’s renewal is where weary hearts are set alight. Throughout Scripture, we are drawn into a prophetic picture of renewal—the Spirit poured out like breath over what is lifeless, and like fire refining a people set apart for God.

God speaks life into the faint and sends His Spirit like streams in the desert; holy fire that purifies, restores, and commissions His people. These ancient promises echo forward and are fulfilled in Jesus, revealing not only who God was, but what He is still doing today through His Spirit.

This is not a distant promise, but a present invitation—to be awakened where we have grown tired, softened where we have grown hard, and renewed where hope has worn thin.

In this series, we lean into the Holy Spirit—the breath that fills, the fire that purifies, the presence that transforms. Come expectant for fresh life, deeper surrender, and a renewing encounter with God.

Prayer

As the practice that brings us regularly into fellowship with God and deepens our unity with each other, our prayer with each other is powerful in shaping us as a community. Join us as we open our building for regular times of morning prayer.

Mothers Day – Sunday 10th May

Whatever this Mother’s Day means for you, come and find the greatest love — holding mothers in gratitude, holding every heart. There will be a photo wall, delish ‘mums-style’ morning tea, video from the kids and a moving message from Ps Kristy. Why not consider who you may like to bring as a guest on a day like this one.

All In Team Night – Wed 20th May

Thanks so much for your understanding and flexibility in us postponing last month’s All In Team Night. We’re now all set for the new date Wednesday 20th May, 7pm–8:30pm. It’s going to be a great night of connection, encouragement and vision as we come together as one team. Looking to jump on team — come along and learn more!

Baptism Sunday – 31st May

Baptism is a pivotal moment in our walk with Christ—a public declaration of faith. If you or your child/teen are interested in taking this next step, please reach out. We’ll also be creating space for kids and youth discussions in the lead-up, and we look forward to celebrating this moment together as a church family in our Sunday gathering.

C3 Cares – Pantry & Midweek Service

C3 Cares Service gathers at 1030am on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month for morning tea, fellowship along with worship and communion. On the fourth Thursday of each month we also offer pantry item pick up for those in need. We look forward to continuing to share these meaningful moments together as we serve and connect with our community.

Sunday Kids

We run our GroKids program for primary-aged children during the service on Gathered Sundays of the school term. During this 45-minute session kids play, pray and learn creatively from God’s word

We have prepared a space at the back of the auditorium with lounges for parents/caregivers and some table activities, books and toys for your little ones (0-Pre-School) to use.

Term 2 kicks off this Sunday, May 2! Our theme is Love Is Our Weapon—helping kids live out their faith each day. Look out for a flyer coming home, or sign up here and search “Primary Grokids – C3 Monash”.

For May, GroKids will meet upstairs during renovations, with the new space opening later this month. Excitingly, our Junior Grokids (ages 2–5) will soon have their own dedicated space—more details coming soon!

Friday Youth

Our Youth Team are passionate about helping young people make good friends, good choices and grow to know a good God who has created them with a purpose for their life. Friday nights are full of fun and connection!

Youth gather Friday nights Week 2-10 of school terms from 6:30-8:30pm.

Youth is back for Term 2 from Friday 1st May – 3rd July! Expect epic dinners (honestly, the best), youth preaching and worship launch, a fun dress-up night, and all the goodness that makes Fridays full of laughter, friendship, and purpose.

This term, youth will be diving into Love Is Our Weapon. You can find out more or register your teen here: and join group C3Monash Youth. We’re also heading to Youth Alive Rally on Friday 12th June (6–9pm) at Awaken Church—tickets available here

Home Church

Every 4th Sunday of the month, we gather at homes across Canberra. A chance to deepen connection; sharing in morning tea or lunch while enjoying our online church service.

We also run a home church experience on these weeks at our 184 Clive Street Ave location at 10:00 am. Find a Home Church here or reach out via the office.

Connect Group

Our groups keep us connected to Jesus and His community by helping people to build relationships and centralise fellowship around our joint relationship with Jesus, creating community where new and existing congregation members can be known and cared for. They cause us to grow to be more like Jesus, through communal discipleship, providing a space for people to share, ask questions and grow in their spiritual formation. They provide regular spaces to pray with one another and encourage each other in how we are reaching others with God’s love.

Find our more about our midweek connect groups.

Young Adults

Young Adults from our high school graduates through to ~mid twenties gather regularly for Home Church, Connect Groups and events including monthly Sunday Lunch hangs.

The Young Adults of C3 Monash also make for a vibrant addition to our volunteer team.
