Jesus
SAVES

Who is Jesus

If you’re seeking Jesus, it’s a good day. Jesus offers good news—salvation, healing, and hope. His name, Jesus, means “God saves,” and Matthew 1:21 tells us that His invitation is for everyone—people from all nations and languages. Jesus came to bridge the divide between heaven and earth and make a way for humanity to be restored to God. He gave his life so that anyone could receive forgiveness and redemption.

As God’s Savior, Jesus is the one who most fully reveals God’s love and care for creation. Through him, God is reconciling everything back to himself (Colossians 1:13-20). In his teaching, Jesus confirmed that He came for all people to bring healing and wholeness. In Luke 4:18-19, he declares:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has chosen me to be His representative to the poor and to preach good news to them. He sent me to tell those who are held captive that they can now be set free, and to tell the blind that they can now see. He sent me to liberate those held down by oppression. To proclaim that now is the time; it is the year of the Lord’s favour.”

Jesus is the Savior who brings freedom and restoration to all people. If you’re seeking understanding or exploring who he is, you’re on a meaningful journey—and this Bible is here to guide you.

Accepting Jesus to be the Lord of your life starts with a simple prayer that you can make your own today.  If you make the first step toward making Jesus the Lord of your life, be assured you are loved by God and know he has a plan for you. In this bible, in the book of John, it says;

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him” John 3:16

Being a Christian is about growing in your devotion and relationship with Jesus, so here are a few simple next steps that will help you.

  • Reach out and chat with another believer. You may know there is a Christian that you work with, or someone in your family, or perhaps even a person who came with or met at church.
  • Secondly, begin to pray every day. Prayer is simply talking to God. Talk to him about your concerns, your hopes, and your needs, for he will care for you.
  • We would encourage you to read this Bible. A good place to start reading is in the Gospels, the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, which tell the story of Jesus on Earth. Read until something pops out at you, then pray and ask God to speak to you.
  • Finally, we as a church would love to do all that we can to help you connect with Jesus and his community, grow to be more like him, and reach others with his love. The most natural place to continue that journey is Sundays 10am.

We are so glad you are taking these steps toward a life in Jesus Christ. You will not be disapaointed you did!

Prayer of invitaton

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe you are the risen Lord.
Through your death and resurrection, you have defeated sin, evil and death.
I am sorry for my sins, and ask for your forgiveness.
I turn from my old ways and turn to you as my saviour and Lord.
I believe that because of you, I am forgiven, made new, and made right with God.
Fill me with your Spirit that I may follow you, live in your resurrection power, and take my place in your people and mission.
You are Lord, and I trust you with my life

Amen

Ever wondered why or how to pray?

Prayer is most effective when it isn’t a thing we do every now and then, but when it’s a lifestyle we cultivate. To understand how to have a lifestyle of prayer, we can look at the example Jesus gave during His life on earth.
